Pathfinder Club
Pathfinders & Adventurers Invested
“The instigator of the decree did not realize its implications,” stated Fred Fuller, pastor of the Chattanooga First church, at the special Pathfinder/Adventurers worship service in our worship service on May 10. “Satan was trying to get rid of God’s holy law of love. All of God’s people were to be destroyed. But God sent Mordecai and Esther, who came up with a plan. Mordecai had said—‘Who knows but what you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.’ All of God’s people/Esther and her assistants prayed for three days. She surprised the king by inviting him and Haman to supper twice. He promised her half of his kingdom. At the second supper with him she broke down and voiced her request.
“God has brought you students into Christian homes/schools/Pathfinder and Adventurers Clubs because He has a plan for you at a special time. I have friends with whom I attended school/worked/taught who are now in high Government positions. Three points:
(1) God has a plan for you.
(2) (2) Each plan has a preparation time. Esther studied/prayed. God may have a special plan for you. Do everything with diligence—even your household chores—in your preparation to work for Him.
(3) (3) The time will come when you’ll have to take a stand for right, maybe at home/work/public office. You will have to get up the courage to take your stand. Jer. 29:11—‘For I know the plans that I have for you—’ “
I’m proud of your leaders, your church, your parents, and proud of you,” he concluded.
Greeters for the service were Seth Edens and Daniel Reyes. The Praise Team, led by Kathy Schleier, was Brandon Dorn, Tiara Hebert, Cierra Miller, and Amber Piresson. Pianist for the worship service was Learning Tree Elementary School Principal Vicky Lauritzen. Caleb Burks and Michael Rafey were the flag bearers as the Pathfinders and Adventurers marched in. Drill team captain was Tiara Hebert. Claire Edens designed the church bulletin cover with a picture of children around the world and reminder that “Love Can Turn the World.”
Lisa Miller was invested as a Master Guide by Pastor Fuller and Andy Miller. “Year in Review” PowerPoint movies were shown of the Pathfinders and Adventurers’ energetic activities. The Adventurers sang in English and Korean, “I Will Wear a Crown.” Claire Edens called for the tithes and offerings, and Jillian Cheever offered the prayer. Junior deacons taking up the offering were Benjamin and David Nwadike, Zachary Pepper, and Luke Rafey. The Adventurers & Pathfinders string ensemble and Director Linda Chung played, “Morning Has Broken.” Nicole Brinkley called for the Lamb’s Offering for the Learning Tree School as the children came forward for the story told by Niccole Brinkley. At the close of the story they took to each mother a “Woman of God, Growing in Love for Him” book mark and package of wildflowers seed to plant, to add a reminder of God’s love as the plants bloom in God’s garden and appreciate His grace. Lisa Miller, one of the leaders, related a praise, how her dad, after praying for him for 50 years, has recently decided to be baptized. She thanked the membership for its response in bringing Bibles to be sent to South Africa. “Love can Turn the World” was sung by the Pathfinders.
